Y Did You Arrest Her?
Kerri Hoover is not 39. She’s not a man. And a warrant wasn’t issued to arrest her for not showing up to face traffic charges. Nevertheless she was arrested on it. Her lawyer says she told the arresting officer she didn’t have a record, but Donora, Pa., Police Chief James Brice insisted he “knew how to read a warrant.” The warrant listed Kerry — with a Y — Hoover’s name, age, height (6 feet), and weight (250 pounds). “There are wild disparities between the description laid out in the warrant and the person, my client, who was picked up that day,” says Kerri Hoover’s lawyer. She is suing the borough and both cops. (AC/Washington Observer-Reporter) ...Let’s hope they know how to read a judgment.Original Publication Date: 09 August 2015
