Starting in 2016, I’ve been going through the stories each year to choose the weirdest story of each month of the year, and then choosing “the” weirdest, and why it well represents This is True.
Sure I should have been doing this all along! Better late than never.
Each is a PDF to lay out the stories, the choice, and the rationale for that choice. Plus, you’re not only welcome to share the PDF(s), I encourage it!

The PDFs going back to 2016 are available for download by Premium subscribers — the folks who help make it all happen. The full newsletter has about triple the stories, no outside ads, the full text of the Honorary Unsubscribe, discounts on True book collections, first dibs on other goodies, and your newsletter comes earlier in the week.
(Already a Premium subscriber and need previous years’ PDFs? Just drop me a note. Yes, you are still allowed to share them.)

This page is an example of my style of “Thought-Provoking Entertainment”. This is True is an email newsletter that uses “weird news” as a vehicle to explore the human condition in an entertaining way. If that sounds good, click here to open a subscribe form.
To really support This is True, you’re invited to sign up for a subscription to the much-expanded “Premium” edition:
Q: Why would I want to pay more than the minimum rate?
A: To support the publication to help it thrive and stay online: this kind of support means less future need for price increases (and smaller increases when they do happen), which enables more people to upgrade. This option was requested by existing Premium subscribers.
