A Wish with a Bang

What to do when a 12-year-old cancer patient tells Make-A-Wish he wants to “blow stuff up”? They called the police — for the right reasons. “We’re the breaching team, so [blowing stuff up is] pretty much one of our specialties,” said Sgt. Peter Murphy of the Australian Federal Police. The boy went to Canberra, met the prime minister and the governor-general, took some training, and — most importantly — blew stuff up. His leukemia is now in remission, and Sgt. Murphy thinks he could come back to the team that blows stuff up — in a professional capacity. “He’s got an aptitude,” he said. (AC/Australian ABC) ...Sounds like this was a more useful wish than meeting a movie star.
