Ask Me Anything 011 …Will I Get an Honorary Unsubscribe?

And also, will I use “horrible” stories?

Randy Cassingham, smiling with glasses and a goatee, next to large blue text reading Ask me Anything. Below, smaller text says A Little Video Series from This is True, and Full Disclaimer: Answers Optional. This video series is a classic Ask Me Anything, with 1-2 questions answered each week. It’s for ThisIsTrue.com readers who are curious about whatever. Questions are accepted (only) from Premium subscribers. My wife and I live on a Residential Cruising ship, and I record from my office there.

Questions in this Episode:

  • 0:18 Jeremy in the U.K.: Have there been stories too horrible to talk about, or were they funny anyway?
  • 6:09 Ken in Colorado: Have you written your own Honorary Unsubscribe?

For that example of a horrible story — about the dogs and the murderer I discussed.

Since Youtube Comments are typically a vast, brain-free wasteland of obliviocy, I’m putting the videos on my site where there can be intelligent discussion. The comments are NOT a place to ask questions.

Q: Why would I want to pay more than the minimum rate?

A: To support the publication to help it thrive and stay online: this kind of support means less future need for price increases (and smaller increases when they do happen), which enables more people to upgrade. This option was requested by existing Premium subscribers.

  1. If I ever join the Villa Vie, will you take me shirt shopping? You wear the coolest shirts in these AMAs.

Sure …if you tell them you heard about it from me when you call! 😉

I don’t always find cool shirts, but I know ’em when I see ’em. The best part is the prices: a button-down like this week’s is typically US$20 or less, and the sellers probably think the prices are high. Even in Australia: I got an embroidered T-shirt that I just love. It was A$10, which is about US$6.60. I’ll wear it in the next vid. -rc

  2. If anyone could find a way to post a horrible story, tastefully as possible, it would be you. You make people think. Not the kind who need most to do so, but if you occasionally reach those who might have a moment of enlightenment, maybe it will have accomplished something worthwhile. Meanwhile, I will support your journalism.

Thanks. I literally cannot continue TRUE without financial support from readers. -rc
