Another Round in Drug War

Reynoldsburg, Ohio, authorities may not be able to charge anyone in the death of nearby Kirkersville’s police chief: there’s evidence that the opiates that killed him were already evidence. The late chief, James Hughes Jr., 35, is suspected of stealing the drugs from his own department’s evidence room, and overdosing on them. Reynoldsburg Lt. Ron Wright suggested the Ohio attorney general might want to investigate that evidence room. “There appeared to be some practices happening out there that probably someone from the state AG’s office should probably look into,” Wright said.
