Are You My Mother?
In 1964, newborn Paul Fronczak was kidnaped from Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, Ill. A year later, police found an abandoned child resembling Fronczak in New Jersey and returned him to Fronczak’s ecstatic parents. Although they had to adopt the child due to lack of conclusive evidence of his true identity, everybody thought the case had reached a happy ending — until they underwent genetic testing and determined that the now 49-year-old Paul Fronczak is not actually Chester and Dora Fronczak’s son. The investigation has been reopened, but the Fronczaks are not getting directly involved. “We went through this once, and we certainly don’t want to go through this again,” they said in a statement. Paul Fronczak, meanwhile, is trying to determine his true identity. “I don’t know how old I am, or who I am, or what nationality, all those things you just take for granted,” he said. (MS/Sky News) ...And neither does the real Paul Fronczak — he just doesn’t know it yet.Original Publication Date: 01 September 2013
