Bad Judgment
A drunk-driving suspect stopped in Bergen County, N.J., asked the troopers whether they’d show him some “courtesy.” “You know you’re being a dick. I will [expletive] fight you.” But perhaps to indicate that the handcuffs they were putting on him were unnecessary, he assured the troopers he wouldn’t try to harm them. After all, “I’m a [expletive] judge.” Those, at least, are allegations in the disciplinary case part-time Belleville and East Orange judge Wilfredo Benitez faces now that he’s been acquitted of driving under the influence of alcohol.
