Belle Terror

A girl at Belle Terre Elementary School in Palm Coast, Fla., needed to go to the restroom. She raised her hand, but her teacher did not respond, and the girl soiled her clothing. “She has medical issues” of which the school has been informed, her father explains, “and when she has to go, she has to go.” The school gave her fresh panties, but decided she didn’t need pants — her shirt was long enough, her father, Raymond McCurdy, says the assistant principal told him. But the shirt did not cover her leg enough to meet the dress code (by half an inch) and, more to the point, it was a shirt, not pants or a dress. “She was picked on, bullied, she was laughed at,” the 6-year-old’s mother said. The school says it’s offered the parents a meeting; the parents say they’ve gotten a lawyer. (AC/WKMG Orlando) ...As a settlement, how about the assistant principal gives a lecture on treating people with respect — while wearing no pants.
