Biting Off More Than He Can Chew — Defined
Colton Vaughn went to the kitchen of his brother’s apartment in Federal Way, Wash., for a glass of water in the middle of the night, and realized it was really cold. He looked over and noticed the patio door was wide open, but that’s not all: he also saw a man wearing a ski mask and gloves coming at him. Vaughn, a boxer, sprang into action: “I started hitting him,” he said, and yelling for his brother, warning him of the intruder. His brother, Kirk, came running. If a trained boxer wasn’t enough, Kirk was ready too: he brought his pistol with him. The burglar ran for the patio door, but Colton beat him to it: “I grabbed him by the collar and the back of his belt, I threw him right over the balcony,” he said. “He put off a little bit of a scream, and when he hit the ground is when he made a loud thud.” Once the brothers regained their wits, they ran downstairs, but the burglar was already gone.
