Frank Sams Jr. was wanted on a murder charge, so he went to the Orleans Parish, La., jail to surrender. Attorney Kelly Orians went with him, and she says it took almost an hour to get the jail to admit the suspect: he didn’t have a state I.D., and multiple deputies assembled to stop Sams from entering the jail. You might wonder who would show up at a jail and ask to be booked on a murder he wasn’t suspected of, but that argument didn’t move the deputies. What finally did was Orians showing the deputies a newspaper article: it had Sams’ picture, and noted he was wanted. (AC/Baton Rouge Advocate) ...Go to jail.
