Calibration Procedure

A Detroit, Mich., police officer, in Lansing for a breathalyzer training session with the Michigan State Police, volunteered to “give a sample” for the training. The unnamed officer was asked to leave when his breath measured .08 percent alcohol; he was not arrested since he was not armed, and did not drive to the training. Detroit Police Chief James Craig says the department will conduct an internal investigation. (RC/WXYZ Detroit) ...Conclusion: next time troopers need to be much more clear when they ask for volunteers during breathalyzer training.
