Call Waiting

When her 10-year-old granddaughter didn’t come home from a BBQ in Hudson, Fla., the woman called police to report the girl missing. The girl’s mother, Bobbey Jo Boucher, 29, had dropped her daughter off, so a Pasco County Sheriff’s deputy called Boucher at work to see what she knew about the missing girl. He says Boucher responded, “I have to get on stage” — she’s a dancer at the Calendar Girls strip club — and hung up on him. The child was found safe later that night; Boucher was arrested for resisting an officer and obstruction, even though she told deputies she hadn’t hung up, but took another call. (RC/WTSP St. Petersburg) ...Because that call could have been more important.
