“The plane was really small,” Milan Schipper noticed, “and so I figured, would that make it to Australia?” But the Dutchman boarded the Air Canada aircraft in Toronto anyway; that was the scheduled transfer for his trip from Amsterdam to Sydney. He’d bought the ticket because it was nearly $300 less than competing offers, and when he looked at the map displayed on the little seat-back screen in front of him, he finally figured out why: he and his summer clothing were on their way to beautiful, snowy Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada. He cursed to himself, but the flight had already taken off. When he reached Sydney, airport employees helped him find his way home.
