Shemroy Williams, 31, has been sentenced to the maximum — 2-1/2 years in prison — for malicious destruction of property. Williams went to his ex-girlfriend’s house in Taunton, Mass., and tried to set it on fire with her inside. Police responding to the crime found Williams had a lighter, and an empty bag of Cheetos — firefighters had noticed that the accelerant used to set the fire was the oily orange snack food. “The defendant engaged in outrageous behavior that jeopardized the safety of the intended victim, her friend, and first responders,” said District Attorney Thomas Quinn.
