Contingency Plan
German Member of Parliament Dieter Janecek had a question for government officials: what plans are in place in the case of “first contact” by space aliens? The United States not only has a plan, the U.S. Air Force has the 527th Space Aggressor Squadron in place to train domestic and allied forces for combat with “space capable adversaries,” and conducts regular drills to try to anticipate what an attack from an “otherworldly adversary” might look like. Germany’s Ministry of Economics responded to MP Janecek’s question: the government has “no plans or protocol” for contact with space aliens because such an event is “extremely unlikely according to current scientific knowledge.” (RC/Deutsche Welle) ...Oh come on!
