An Oshawa, Ont., Canada, man wanted to make jewelry, but he apparently failed to recognize how dangerous the ornament he was working with was. His necklace was to feature one bullet, and as he was removing it from a live shell with vice grips, the unnamed 50-year-old man effectively shot himself in the leg, police say. “The powder igniting in the bullet caused it to explode,” Durham Regional Police said. “The male indicated he was trying to make a necklace and didn’t realize this could happen.” (AC/Toronto Sun) ...Remember, everybody: things designed to go bang sometimes do!Original Publication Date: 19 February 2017
