Since the Waynesville Daily Guide newspaper shut down, another town in Pulaski County, Mo., decided to launch its own paper. But the name its founders chose has been somewhat controversial. “We had thought about ‘Constitution’, but most of our— the people who love us, and who were part of coming up with the name, liked the ‘examiner’ better,” managing editor Natalie Sanders said. Waynesville Mayor Luge Hardman spoke against naming the paper after the town that’s funding it. “I think that the ‘Pulaski County Examiner’ would have been a real hit, and I don’t believe it would’ve been a problem for the cities,” Hardman said. “But if you’re going to place this innuendo on your name, it’s not going to fly.” The paper, since it will be published starting in October from the city of Uranus, will be named The Uranus Examiner.
