Deposit the Fee in Our Secret Account

A man contacted the Spartanburg County, S.C., Sheriff’s Office to report that he’d been the victim of a fraud. The unidentified man, in his 60s, told deputies “he was given false information about an organization in which he thought about joining,” but “instead stole his money.” He had been approached by people letting him know he could join the organization by sending a $250 down payment. He sent the $250 — followed by another $2,000. Then he realized he “might” be a victim of fraud and contacted the Sheriff’s Office. The organization he wanted to join: the Illuminati.
