Driving Test

Theodore Bickel, 25, isn’t a bad guy, says his attorney, Keith McKinney. Bickel is “very sorry that this happened and apologizes for his conduct.” Bickel was pulled over in Heritage Creek, Ky., and charged with drunk driving, handcuffed, and put in the back seat of the police cruiser. As the officer secured Bickel’s vehicle, Bickel took the seatbelt off, got the handcuffs in front of him, reached out and opened his door, jumped into the front seat, and took off at “a high rate of speed.” So here’s the apology part: “I think he said, ‘Sorry, dude,’ when he took off,” McKinney said. Bickel then flipped the police car over a guardrail, completely destroying it, and then ran. “I don’t see how he survived the accident,” McKinney said. Bickel was not captured until the next day, when he went to a hospital for cuts and bruises. (RC/Louisville Courier-Journal) ...All that but he couldn’t pass a roadside sobriety test?
