Freak of Nomenclature, Municipal Division

A Florida man called police just to let them know he planned to shoot a neighbor’s dog. He explained that the dog had attacked his dog, and thought the neighbor should pay his veterinarian’s bill. The police department’s call log notes the unidentified man said “he was a redneck and he felt nothing should trespass on his property,” and that he “believes he is entitled to beat and kill the dog and anyone on his property.” The dispatcher “encouraged him not to shoot” the dog. Oh, and the town in Florida? Niceville. (RC/Northwest Florida Daily News) ...In Florida, it’s not surprising for the town names to be wickedly ironic.
