Friends, Romans, Countrymen!

“Have you lost an ear?”, the Holmes Beach Police asked on Facebook — complete with a photo. But the incident wasn’t related to a crime or an accident: it’s a prosthetic, which someone found in the sand at the “World’s Strongest Man” competition at Manatee Public Beach on Anna Maria Island, Fla. Sure enough, a South Carolina man, who preferred to be unidentified, told police he was holding it in his hand as he swam in the surf, and “a big wave came and knocked it out of his hand and was unable to locate it,” said Chief Bill Tokajer. While the department’s post got plenty of funny comments, one wrote, “All you people making jokes clearly don’t understand how important this is to someone who lost it. Being born without an ear and losing a prosthetic you paid a ton of money for is nothing to joke about.” (RC/Bradenton Herald, WFTV Orlando) ...Oh quit shouting: he’s not deaf you know!
