Ghost Story
A group of college students thought they had a ghost in their Greensboro, N.C., apartment. Things were missing, and there were hand prints appearing on their bathroom wall. Then Maddie, one of the roommates, found the source. “It sounded like a raccoon in my closet,” she said, and she asked who was there. “He’s like ‘oh my name is Drew.’ I open the door and he’s in there, wearing all of my clothes.” Drew, later identified as Andrew Swofford, 30, was arrested and charged with 14 felonies, including larceny and identity theft. For Maddie and her roommates, the bigger question is how Swofford got in, since the doors were locked and there’s no sign of forced entry. Plus, this isn’t the first time. A couple of months earlier, two men were discovered in their living room. “I can’t stay here,” Maddie said. “My closet, it stinks. Every time I go in there’s a bad vibe.” (MS/WGHP High Point) ...It may be time for a new wardrobe, too.Original Publication Date: 24 February 2019
