A billboard a quarter million people see each week by a road into Asheville, N.C., has feminist and progressive groups up in arms. “Sometimes, it’s ok to throw rocks at girls,” the ad says. The company that placed it is co-owned by a member of Women for Women, a charitable group, and has raised funds for a group that serves sex-crime victims. It’s a jewelry company; the “rocks” on the billboard are gemstones.
