“There was no malicious intent,” concluded Capt. Jay Rodriguez of the Fort Myers, Fla., Police Dept. Officer Tim McCormick had posted on Facebook that a Burger King where he had lunch adulterated his hamburger with “dirt and grit.” The post went viral, with police supporters suggesting the restaurant be boycotted. Burger King officials investigated, checking security videos, and determined what the substance was: flame-broiled seasonings. They invited McCormick to come view the video, but he simply deleted his online post. And what of his physical evidence to back up his charges? He admitted that when he saw the “dirt” on his burger, he “threw it out the window” of his patrol car. (RC/Orlando Sentinel) ...So Capt.
