Hopefully Will Miss Them

Police in the Umm Al Quwain Municipality of the United Arab Emirates say there is an increasing problem with car-animal crashes, and have come up with a plan for “protecting road users from stray animals.” They have identified a location where they can gather stray animals with the help of the Animal Welfare agency. Then they will give the animals a snack, outfit them with glow-in-the-dark vests, and release them again. Then, when the animals are on the highway at night, motorists will be able to see them, thanks to the vests. This will “protect the natural environment and all species within it,” a police spokesman promised. “It remains unclear,” the report notes, “what specific animals will wear the vests.” (RC/Abu Dhabi National) ...The slow ones.
