Just Do It
Dion Callaway, 39, lost his leg in a skydiving accident, but that doesn’t mean he gave up jumping out of perfectly good airplanes. During a skydive over Cloverdale, Calif., Callaway said a “rush of air” got inside his $15,000 prosthetic leg and it “just flew off.” He tried to keep track of where it fell, “but I was so overwhelmed in that moment I could not keep track.” The next day, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office got a call from a lumberyard about a bizarre find: a leg was found in the yard, wearing “a nice looking Nike” shoe. A deputy posted a photo on Facebook, which led to Callaway, who was grateful to get it back “in perfect shape — survived 10,000 feet!” (RC/Santa Rosa Press Democrat) ...If this keeps up, Callaway may end up being the first man in history to lose three legs while skydiving.Original Publication Date: 19 May 2019
