A tweet about four pictures of Brigham Young University math professors racked up nearly 10,000 comments and 260,000 likes. The pictures were on a poster promoting “Women in Math.” All four professors were men. “It was not meant to demean women or be satirical,” the Provo, Utah, institution’s math department explained. “We very much value the Women in Math organization,” which supports female math majors.
