Mail Order

A hotel in Key West, Fla., received a package. It wasn’t addressed to a guest, so they opened it — and then called police. Inside was a package of crystal methamphetamine, wrapped in dirty socks. The return address on the package noted it was sent by “Robert Dean Bare” — who had a reservation at the hotel that day. An undercover police officer took over working the desk, and sure enough Bare arrived, and asked if there was a package. The cop handed it over — and arrested Bare, 24, of Bullhead City, Ariz., when he accepted it. Bare explained that he “was in town to party,” and wanted to try meth for the “first time” on a “tropical island.” (RC/Florida Keys News) ...First time for meth: maybe. First time for stupid pills: no way.
