Mayor of Loserville II

During his term as mayor of Hawthorne, Calif., starting in 1993, Larry Guidi came under law enforcement scrutiny several times. But in no case, such as allegedly shooting a gun into the air or suspicious goings on with a local towing company, were charges filed. But he has now pleaded guilty to a single felony count of grand theft after being caught on camera stealing a $1,300 mixer from his local school district. He reportedly told police he wanted it to mix pizza dough for the large weekend backyard parties he enjoyed throwing for friends and family. “There are names that come up more than others,” Dave Demerjian, head of the Los Angeles district attorney’s Public Integrity Unit, said in an interview. “He’d be one of those.” (MS/Los Angeles Times) ...It wouldn’t be terribly surprising if most politicians’ names would come to the attention of the Public Integrity Unit.
