Murder, She Wrote
Nancy Crampton Brophy, 68, of Beaverton, Ore., has been charged with the murder of her husband of 27 years, chef Daniel Brophy, 63, who was shot in his kitchen at Portland’s Oregon Culinary Institute. Mrs. Brophy is a successful “romantic suspense writer” who wrote mystery novels, including murder mysteries. One book: The Wrong Husband. As such a writer, she wrote in a 2011 essay, “I spend a lot of time thinking about murder and, consequently, about police procedure.” The title of the essay: “How to Murder Your Husband”.
