Not the Boost He Was Looking For
Surveillance video in a Boost Mobile phone store in Los Angeles, Calif., shows a man entering through an air conditioning duct. The burglar’s unconventional entrance triggered an alarm, according to owner Miguel Ceja. Unfortunately for the man, the business was not yet open and wasn’t stocked with any merchandise. Apparently realizing this, the man on the video ran out through a door — into a secured hallway with no exits that could be opened from the hallway. When “that door shuts, you’re done,” Ceja said. “You’re not getting out of there.” Ceja and his partners built the secure area after they had lost thousands of dollars of inventory in previous burglaries. In the video, the man could be seen kicking the reinforced steel doors and even trying to break through with a hammer. He continued to try to escape for about 45 minutes, until the police arrived and took him into custody.
