Older and Bigger

Sheppard Bus Service, which provides buses for schools in Millville, N.J., had a report that someone was stealing money from a bus driver. Police were called in, and an officer started watching the security camera footage from inside buses, but didn’t find anyone stealing from a driver. The officer did, however, allegedly spot an employee going through students’ backpacks, stealing their lunch money and, sometimes, their lunches. The officer says she watched Rosa M. Rios, 33, steal from 29 children aged 3 to 5 over several weeks. Rios was arrested, charged with robbery and theft, and held on $50,000 bail. (RC/South Jersey Times) ...Nice surprise: police deal swiftly and seriously with a bully stealing kids’ lunch money. No surprise: school officials weren’t even peripherally involved.
