Or Nice
Ruth Espiricueta, a first-grade teacher at Monte Cristo Elementary School in Edinburg, Texas, asked her students to write a letter to Santa Claus expressing two “wants” and one “need.” Crystal Pacheco, 7, wrote, “I have binde good this day. This Christmas I would like a ball and a food. I need a blancet.” Espiricueta was shocked. “I did not expect her to say, ‘I need food. I want food, but I need a blanket more’,” she said, so she asked the girl why. “Well, I get to eat at school,” the child told her, so she needs the blanket more. The teacher posted the letter online, and hundreds of donations have come into the school. “I’m just very emotional and proud of my children,” said the girl’s mother, “because I raise them to appreciate the little that we have.” (RC/KGBT Harlingen) ...One down, several million to go.Original Publication Date: 17 December 2017
