Persistence

When Detective Brent Wooddell went to a Pompano Beach, Fla., strip club, someone was arrested for taking too much off — the detective, for removing his house-arrest monitoring anklet. “We have moved to revoke his bond twice,” complained prosecutor Adriana Alcalde-Padron. “Hopefully, he will now remain in custody at least until it’s time for his trial.” Judge Carlos Rebollo had allowed Wooddell, who has been suspended from the Broward County Sheriff’s department, to remain on house arrest despite accusations he’d tried to intimidate a witness in his case, and failed to report that he’d crashed into another car on the way to his arraignment. (He didn’t want to be late.) Wooddell is now in jail, awaiting trial on charges of stealing money from a man he’d arrested on drug charges — who was actually an undercover cop. Wooddell’s lawyer declined to comment on his client’s activities. (AC/South Florida Sun-Sentinel) ...The comments he needs to make are to his client.
