Pious Like Me

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced the arrest of 32 people allegedly involved in human trafficking. “Operation Someone Like Me” responded to ads offering children for sex, and the subsequent investigations resulted in the arrests. After the announcement, Senior Pastor Ron Stewart of the Grace Baptist Church in Karns announced he was “devastated” to announce he was firing his colleague and friend Jason Kennedy, 46, the church’s children’s minister — who was one of those arrested, charged with patronizing prostitution and human trafficking. “Jason was a guy that talked so much about his wife and how much he loved her,” Stewart said. “We are not sorry he got caught. We are sorry that he did what he did.” At least one other pastor was arrested in the sting. (RC/WBIR Knoxville) ...Talk is cheap: it’s actions that are the measure of someone’s integrity.
