Pop Goes the Weasel

Bhagwant Chauhan says a man and a woman had been outside her Reddi Mart store in Spruce Grove, Alta., Canada, for hours by the time they presented a credit card and tried to make a purchase. Asked to input his PIN, the man admitted it wasn’t his card, but claimed it was his girlfriend’s. But the real fun didn’t begin until the Royal Canadian Mounted Police showed up. The man threw the woman, and later some snacks, at a Mountie. For her part, the woman fled to a back room and found her way into the ceiling, through which she then fell. Surveillance cameras captured the antics, and the arrests. Brittany Burke, 29, was charged with obstructing a cop. Richard Pariseau, 28, was charged with assaulting an officer, and using a stolen credit card. What was he trying to buy? “Pop can,” said Chauhan. “Just pop can. For [a] dollar thirty nine.” (AC/CTV News) ...The story they’ll be able to tell their fellow inmates is worth a lot more than that.
