Pot Stop

When Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers were conducting a routine vehicle checkpoint, they noticed the smell of marijuana in the air. Walking over to a car with its windows down, they saw the man inside casually smoking a joint. “It appears this was the one and only joint that was smoked,” said RCMP traffic services Cpl. Andy Hamilton. The man was able to pass sobriety tests, but was charged with possession of marijuana. “It doesn’t make any sense to a police officer or the person on the street,” said Hamilton. “You know, this person is obviously a user, a consumer, but why he decided to light up within eyesight of the officers is anybody’s guess.” (MS/CBC) ...Obviously there was an impairment — of intelligence.
