A Polk County, Fla., sheriff’s deputy has been arrested for his actions during a burglary investigation. Ernesto McCloud, 28, backed up police in Davenport at a convenience store burglary. In a security camera video, McCloud is seen picking up a DVD from the floor and putting it behind his notepad. From there, he tucked it into his uniform shirt. When investigators noticed the crime, McCloud was charged with petty theft and armed burglary — “armed” because of his duty firearm on his belt. “Ernesto McCloud said it best himself,” said Sheriff Grady Judd. “He threw away a career for a $10 DVD.” McCloud told investigators he took the DVD because he hadn’t seen the movie.
