Sit On It
When Sara Allison checked on her chicken coop behind her home in Hull, Texas, she found an extra guest. Her chicken, named Bernadette, had a snake — a big one — trying to crawl under her. While Bernadette seemed unfazed, Allison wasn’t sure what to do, so she posted a photo to Facebook asking for help. “Look at this dummy!” her post said. “Too stubborn to get up when a rat snake wants a meal... What should I do?” The general advice: Don’t panic and leave it alone. “I left it alone and it went on its way after it saw me,” Allison said. “The chicken was unharmed. The snake has never eaten any of the chickens, just a few eggs here and there. The snake is our buddy and we love when we get the chance to see it.” (MS/Houston Chronicle) ...Bernadette, however, was too chicken to make a statement.Original Publication Date: 02 September 2018
