Slow Day in the Precinct
It was no ordinary “cat stuck in tree” call for the fire department in Queens, New York. When the FDNY ladder truck arrived, they had two victims to rescue 30 feet up: the kitty, and the police officer who tried to rescue it himself. The firefighters called in reinforcements, and several engines and police cars arrived as rescuers “took their time” to bring the cop and cat down, said witness Jeff Yu, 22. “It was kind of comical,” Yu said. “They seemed to be enjoying themselves. There were no rude comments or anything.” (RC/WNBC New York) ...That’s just not the New York I’ve grown to love.Original Publication Date: 19 May 2013
