A police officer in Washington D.C. stopped for dinner at a restaurant. As he was eating, a woman sat down next to him, and swiped a french fry from his plate. He asked her to not do that, but she took another. He asked her again to stop, and warned her she was committing theft. When she took a third, he arrested her. Item stolen: “French fried potato,” his report says. Quantity: “Three.” The unnamed woman was charged with second-degree theft.
