That’s Methed Up

Florida prosecutor Glenn Hess took a look at some of sheriff deputy Zach Wester’s bodycam footage, and “lost confidence” in the lawman. Video shows Wester holding an unidentified object before a search, then “finding” it — or at least something that looks like it — during the search. The item he found is presumed to be the packet of meth the woman whose truck he was searching had; she was then arrested for possession. Now, Hess said, 263 of Wester’s cases are to be reviewed, and eight people have already had the sentences they were serving vacated. Wester has been fired, but so far, not criminally charged. (AC/Tallahassee Democrat) ...It takes strong evidence to support a criminal case. Or at least it’s supposed to.
