The Best Laid Plans

After a break in at a woman’s home, authorities searched her ex husband’s home in Altoona, Wisc. During the search, they found two shotguns, a stun gun, GPS trackers with magnets attached, and what they described as a “kidnapping kit” which included rope, duct tape, handcuffs, a face mask, a blindfold, and other items. They also found a written outline of a plan. “1. First stop box, hockey bag, duct tape, hand cuff, blow torch, nails, garbage bags, my fresh clothes,” the outline said. “2. House code, shoes off, bedroom blitz, dt gag, handcuff, legs, hood, plus pillow.” The plan went on, including scripts for what to say during the allegedly planned crime, plus maps of the house and the location of a nearby landfill. The ex — James Homme, 39 — was charged with first degree burglary, and attempted kidnapping. (MS/St. Paul Pioneer Press) ...His new plan: 1. Call a lawyer. 2. Plead stupidity. 3. Prepare “prison kit.”
