Police in Quebec City, Que., Canada, saw that a 1999 Toyota Tercel lacked functioning brake lights, so they pulled it over. Then they discovered a few other things weren’t quite as expected: the driver didn’t have insurance documents. The windshield wipers were missing. Oh, and the suspension had been reinforced with chicken wire and logs. “It was basically keeping the vehicle up,” said an officer. Police impounded the car and ticketed the driver for having an open beer — although he passed a sobriety test.
