Hester Jordan Burkhalter, 69, and her family planned their trip to Disney World for two years. But the great grandmother was searched on her way in, and the security guard found CBD oil. That extract from marijuana plants can’t get you high, and it’s been legalized at the federal level, but not under Florida state law — until July, when a new law takes effect. So an Orange County sheriff’s deputy arrested her, and she spent the day in the rather less magical kingdom of jail. Eventually, a prosecutor decided to drop the charges.
