The Light at the End of the Tunnel

Kimberly Santleben Stiteler, 43, ended her marriage with a bang. Literally. After inviting friends and family to her father’s farm in Lacoste, Texas, as witnesses, the event culminated when she took aim — in the dark — with a scoped hunting rifle and squeezed off one shot, which set off an explosive target 200 yards away, consuming her wedding dress in a “garage-sized” fireball. Her sister said the explosion led to immediate phone calls, texts, and Facebook messages from neighbors “up to at least 15 miles away,” asking if everything was OK. Indeed so: “The explosion was huge,” Santleben Stiteler said. “It was liberating pulling that trigger.” (RC/Ft.
