The Love of Three Inches

A goldfish’s excretory difficulties caught the attention of the man who kept it in his office, so he took the animal to the Toll Barn Veterinary Centre in North Walsham, Norfolk, England. He balked at the toll, though: 300 pounds (US$454) to save the goldfish. Even the vet later noted: “I have never done a procedure like that on a goldfish, although I have done it before on more valuable fish like a carp.” But don’t carp: sale price doesn’t measure a person’s love for a pet. Ten minutes after he said no, the man returned and said yes. Vet Faye Bethell proceeded with the operation and, in 50 minutes of work, removed two lumps from the three-inch fish, saving it. (AC/London Telegraph) ...The goldfish’s first name is Worthisweightin.
