The Third Time’s the Charm
“The car,” claims Jose Romero-Valenzuela, 34, was going within the 65 mph speed limit. But Romero-Valenzuela was first pulled over by a Gilliam County, Ore., sheriff’s deputy, clocked at 102 mph. Then a few minutes later, an Oregon state trooper pulled him over again, and said that time he was going 98 mph. Then a different trooper pulled him over again, going 92 mph. The three stops, all resulting in citations, were made in less than an hour. If convicted on all three, Romero-Valenzuela faces $2,000 in fines and a 90-day license suspension. And why was the Las Vegas, Nev., man in such a hurry? He was heading to the Clackamas County Circuit Court for a preliminary hearing on drug charges. (RC/Portland Oregonian) ...It doesn’t say what drug, but I’m guessing speed.Original Publication Date: 18 March 2012
