There’s More than Georgia on His Mind
Undercover detectives in Jefferson County, Colo., set up an online persona of a 15-year-old girl, which was soon contacted by a Georgia man using the name “scrapbuckit” wanting sex. Detectives playing the girl warned him “she” was only 15, but he said “I always like young girls” and “i dont care if its against the law,” — and noted “you the only one [girl] that didnt think I ws a perv.” After saying he was coming to Denver to take her back to Georgia (“I am planning on keeping you,” he texted, and “We will celebrate with pizza and all night sex”), James Lee Pierce, 51, showed up in Denver — and was promptly arrested. Detectives immediately noticed Pierce was wearing an ankle bracelet that tracked his movements: he is on probation for aggravated child molestation, and only served 5 years in prison. (RC/KMGH Denver) ...Let’s see if Colorado does a better job of keeping him behind bars.Story Update: “According to the arrest affidavit, in addition to the sexually graphic language, Pierce asked the person he believed to be an underage teen to send him naked pictures,” prosecutors said. “He also sent sexually graphic photos of himself to the purported underage teen.”
No doubt his prior conviction counted: in February 2015, Pierce was convicted after a 2-day trial, and in April 2015 was sentenced to 6 years to life in prison. As of 2024 he is eligible for a parole hearing in March 2025, when he will be 62 years old. My guess: he won’t get it. I appreciate Colorado’s work to make my tagline come true.
