There’s Something Fishy About This

Scott Mann, a Conservative Member of Parliament for North Cornwall, England, is being ridiculed online after proposing his solution to “knife crime,” which has skyrocketed since most guns in the country are either illegal, or tightly controlled. His suggestion: “Every knife sold in the UK should have a gps tracker fitted in the handle,” he tweeted. “If you’re carrying it around you had better have a bloody good explanation, obvious exemptions for fishing etc.” Replies pointed out that it was impossible for GPS satellites to follow that many tracking devices, that the proposal would need a law requiring everyone to “charge their knives” frequently, and that clearly, Mann was “not the sharpest knife in the drawer.” (RC/BBC) ...On the plus side, Mann notes there’s been a dramatic upswing in the issuance of fishing licenses.
